Have you heard about Hodgkinson Brickwork Academy? The incredible initiative started by Ian Hodgkinson last year that is hell bent on bridging the construction skills gap?
We all agree there is a skill shortage across all industries in the UK at the moment and its up to employers to take action in partnership with institutions to bring through the workforce of tomorrow. The Midlands has incredible industry academies led by the some of the best known companies. EPM: Technology and Norton Motorcycles took charge in engineering momentum and construction is following suit.
Safety Footwear Manufacturer Rock Fall UK and Hodgkinson Brickwork have forged a partnership which will see all the students learning safely and comfortably.
Last week, three of Ians direct-employed apprentices that came through the academy visited the Rock Fall Head Office just outside Derby to learn about making the right choice in Safety Footwear.
Paul Wilson, Partnership Manager at Rock Fall UK said: We were so impressed by the drive of these young men that weve committed to issuing every trainee with a pair of Rock Fall Flint Safety Boots in a colour of their choice. A style widely used by major UK construction companies. Hodgkinson Brickwork give their time to popular TV programs such as DIY SOS and we were amazed to learn that the students we met took part in the Manchester Veterans DIY SOS special that was aired last year.
Ian has ambitious plans for the future of the Academy, if youd like to learn more about the initiative contact Paul Wilson from Rock Fall UK or Ian Hodgkinson from Hodgkinson Brickwork.
